Carlotta Hacker

CARLOTTA HACKER is the author of more than 20 books. Her first career was as a historical researcher at London University. She then worked her way around the world, and on an Easter Island expedition met Canadian filmmaker Hector J. Lemieux, whom she later married. From then on she had three careers: writer, filmperson, and editor. She lives in London, Ontario.

John Mantha has illustrated 14 previous books, including The Kids Book of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada, which was nominated for a B.C. Book Prize. He lives in Toronto.

Carlotta Hacker, who lives in London, Ontario, has written more than 20 books, many of them for children. They include The Book of Canadians which was awarded the Children's Book Centre Choice, and The Kids Book of Canadian History. She also edits, under her married name Carlotta Lemieux, and was Consulting and Contributing Editor of the The Junior Encyclopedia of Canada.

John Mantha is an artist and illustrator. His books include The Kids Book of Canadian Firsts and The Kids Book of Canada's Railway. He lives in Toronto, Ontario.
