Writing Romance

Writing Romance, 3rd edition, is in the series of genre writing how-to books. This book coaches the reader on everything from naming characters to getting an editor to read the finished manuscripts. Ideas about story development, setting and suspense are included. The text is peppered with helpful examples from the pages (and preparations) of the author’s own books. In addition, Writing Romance provides aspiring writers with samples of query letters, manuscript formats, synopsis, character sketches, data sheets and internet information for romance writers, publishers and agents.

A companion CD-ROM is included which contains an Excel template for tracking character history and timelines, trial version of MuseNames character-naming software, bonus MP3s from Vanessa Grant’s seminars on writing great romance novels and two e-books. Vanessa Grant is the author of thirty romance novels.
