Description

This collection of essays examines how the sense of crisis that occasionally seems to overwhelm us directs and transforms Canadian and Quebec writings in English and French, and conversely, how literature and criticism set out to counterbalance the social, economic, and ideological insecurities we live in.

"What kinds of narratives are generated by times of crisis? As this volume shows, there are many stories... [Writing Beyond the End Times] succeeds in its intention for readers to engage with these urgent issues, stimulating dialogue across cultures and languages in a quest for alternative visions of possible futures."

Coral Ann Howells, British Journal of Canadian Studies, Autumn 2021
