Vistas of the West is a collection of poetry and visual art that celebrates the beauty and spirit of the Rocky Mountains, Western foothills, prairie landscapes, and the natural inhabitants of these beautiful environments. A special edition is available that includes a CD of poetry readings by featured poets and a limited edition print.
Foreword writer and featured poets is Doris Daley. Doris' love of wordsmithing has made her one of North America’s favourite western poets, emcees and western humorists. Born and raised on a family ranch in the foothills of Alberta, Doris’ authentic, sparkling poetry has taken her to campfires large and small, to highways, roundabouts and gravel roads throughout the West, and to concert appearances with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and the Saskatchewan Opera Company. This anthology is a stunning collection that embodies inclusive writing style, vision and traditions. I have already read it twice and look forward to the next time I pick it up. It is an inspiration which honours this land and this place! — Sheri-D Wilson, Poet Laureate of Calgary.
