About the author

Bob Burkosky writes from the position of a qualified fisherman and member of The Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvesters. Bob is an active advocate for the industry, being an advisory source and writer for articles in publications such as Westcoast Fisherman, UFAWU Fisherman periodical, and Fisherman Life. He is currently president of The Hook and Line Ling Cod Association, is an advisory representative for the Area C Gillnet Association, and serves as an alternate representative for the Commercial Ground-fish Council.
