Description

Acadia University explores the illustrious institution from the ground up: from its humble beginnings as Acadia College, a Baptist school established in 1838 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, to one of the top-ranked undergraduate universities in the country.

Over one hundred archival photographs accent depictions of early campus life, including statements, stories, and anecdotes from generations of students on everything from residence life, to academia, to special events and organizations. Uncover the history behind campus buildings, from College Hall (1844) to such modern marvels as the K. C. Irving Environmental Science Centre, and university staples from the Athenaeum to the Axemen and Axewomen athletic teams. And trace a proud history of alumni through portraits of noteworthy faculty members and outstanding students.

This newest addition to the Images of Our Past series is an entertaining and enlightening history for anyone connected to the celebrated university.
