Description
Maddie is bored. She's bored at home, bored with chores and her screaming baby sister. She bored at school, bored with her teacher and her too-perfect friend Clementine. So when she's offered a chance to hang out with a new crowd, she jumps at it.
Her new friends are older, tougher and, it seems, smarter: they have a plan to raise enough money to go see their favourite band's concert. The plan soon goes bad, however, and Maddie finds herself in danger of being called a thief. Until, that is, "too-perfect" Clementine arrives to save the day.
Maddie Needs Her Own Life is the story of a girl whose impulsiveness threatens to lead her into real trouble, and of the friend who draws her back.
About the authors
LOUISE LEBLANC is an award-winning novelist and children\s writer. A native of Montreal she worked as a teacher a model an actress and a dancer before establishing her full-time writing career in 1985. Her Maddie books have appeared in French English Spanish and Danish editions.'
MARIE-LOUISE GAY has achieved international acclaim as an author and illustrator of children’s books. She has won many awards, including two Governor General’s awards, the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award, the Vicky Metcalf Award and the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award.
