Marty Gervais

Marty Gervais is the author of more than 20 books of poetry, fiction, non-fiction and drama. In 1998 he won the prestigious Harbourfront Festival Prize for his contribution to Canadian literature. In 1997, he won the Milton Acorn People`s Poetry Award for his collection Tearing Into A Summer Day. Gervais has worked for a number of newspapers. For 17 years, he was The Windsor Star`s book editor. Currently he writes the thrice-weekly "My Town" column. He is also the University of Windsor`s "resident writing porfessional," where he offers creative writing workshops to the public. In addition to his own writing, Marty Gervais is the publisher of Black Moss Press, one of Canada`s oldest independent publishing houses.
