Each riding's history of the 1988 and 1993 federal election campaigns is accompanied by extensive statistical information onpopulation density, campaign financing, ethno-linguistic breakdown, average income and home price, levels of higher education, types and levels of employment, and population mobility. Constituency statistics are often ranked in comparison in and beyond the province and nation-wide.Maps now situate the ridings in their provinces, and in relation to neighbouring ridings. About the authors
Munroe Eagles is Professor of Political Science and Geography at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His primary research interests are in the field of electoral and political geography, and in the politics of advanced industrial democracies. He has published numerous journal articles on these topics and is the author, with R. Kenneth Carty, of Politics is Local: National Politics at the Grassroots (Oxford University Press, 2005).

Alain-G. Gagnon holds the Canada Research Chair in Québec and Canadian Studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal. His most recent books include, as author, The Case for Multinational Federalism and Minority Nations in the Age of Uncertainty; as co-author, Federalism, Citizenship, and Quebec; and, as co-editor, Federal Democracies as well as Political Autonomy and Divided Societies and Multinational Federalism.
Patrick Smith is a Professor and Past Chair of the department and current Director of the Institute of Governance Studies. His research interests include public policy and administration, local and metropolitan governance, global cities, political parties and elections, electoral reform, local democracy, Canadian and BC Government/Politics, federalism and constitutional reform.
