Maxine Trottier is an avid history buff who has written the four previous Scholastic Canada Biographies: Canadian Pioneers, Canadian Greats, Canadian Inventors and Canadian Stars. She has written many other historical children's books including the award-winning Claire's Gift, Laura: A Story of Laura Secord and Dear Canada: Alone in an Untamed Land.
