The Reference 1 Bundle Pack contains 10 copies of Atlas 1 and 10 copies of Dictionary 1. Both titles are print resources for Grades 1-3 in Canada. Atlas 1 combines an engaging and accessible introduction to basic mapping skills with age-appropriate maps of Canada and the world. Each map is accompanied by beautiful photos, supporting text, and activities that have students apply their understanding of mapping conventions and skills.
Dictionary 1 features an engaging introduction to basic dictionary and word skills; age-appropriate definitions for 1800 entries; and a colourful, highly visual design. Dictionary 1 has a special focus on subject-area vocabulary required by Canadian curricula, and includes a special feature on every spread to help teachers use the dictionary for direct instruction and independent vocabulary development.

LARRY SWARTZ is an instructor in literacy as well as dramatic arts at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. He has been an educator for over thirty-six years and is well known for his use of childrenâ??s literature to help young people grow as readers, writers, and citizens of the world. As a classroom teacher, consultant, author, and speaker, Larry has shared his enthusiasm and expertise with teachers, administrators, teacher-librarians, and parents throughout Canada, the United States, and Asia. He is the author of several teacher resource publications.
