Combining insights from many disciplines besides sociology--including anthropology, psychology, economics, politics, and history--it begins with an introductory review of theoretical concepts before moving on to examine empirical demographic data, ethnic identity and solidarity, socioeconomic stratification, and finally, racism and human rights.
