Description
Poppy and Allie is a follow up to the highly successful picture book Nana's Quilt. Allie has a science project to do for school and Poppy is eager to help. While Poppy leads Allie and her classmates on a discovery of the natural beauty of the walking trails in and around the city of St. John's, they begin to question the environmental issues threatening these natural areas. As they learn practical ways to preserve these special places, Poppy helps Allie and her classmates to create beautiful lasting images of the sights along the East Coast Trails and The Grand Concourse through the traditional art of rug hooking. The children of Hazelwood Elementary School have created their own interpretation of their discoveries along these trailways through colorful hooked rugs presented throughout this delightful picture book.
