Description
Holly is an aspiring actor who earns her keep cleaning other people's houses. Although she has a lover, she shares a house with her friend Marc, whose personal life is filled with turmoil and difficult decisions. Holly has a certain sense of responsibility for him and is devastated when she comes home one evening to find him dead at their kitchen table. Marc has committed suicide. Just a few days later, his spirit communicates with Holly; the new Marc has moved back in.
So begins The Other Side a witty novel with some serious themes. As Holly helps Marc work through unresolved relationships from his spiritual dimension, he becomes the ironic catalyst that fleshes out the relationships in Holly's own life. In order to resolve Marc's anguish, Holly has to come to terms with her own personal ghosts and take charge of her own life's directions.
About the author
Born and raised in New York City, Cynthia Holz is also the author of three other novels, Onlyville, The Other Side and Semi-detached, and the other short story collection Home Again. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. She now lives in Toronto with her husband and son.
