Description
"On Collecting accompanies three exhibitions that comprised the On Collecting Series held at the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery; A Few of My Favourite Things; Bibliophilia; and Private to Public. The On Collecting Series marked a further step in the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery’s commitment to research associated with their permanent collection which asked three artists: Geoffrey Farmer; Michael Maranda; and the artist collective: Sugar Estate to produce work that investigated concepts and practices involved with collecting.
On Collecting features full-colour installation images of the resulting exhibitions and projects, an insert created by Farmer, and essays by University of Lethbridge Art Gallery Director/Curator Josephine Mills and Critic in Residence at the Alberta College of Art & Design and an award-winning senior art critic, arts journalist and independent curator Nancy Tousley.
