Description

Globalization is far more than a buzzword—its effects can be felt around the world, from the richest to the poorest countries, and many of us have yet to fully understand its implications.

This fully revised and updated No-Nonsense Guide provides a clear, concise commentary on the complex mechanisms of globalization. It examines the debt trap, the acceleration of neo-liberalism and the “free-trade” model, competition for resources, and the links between the war on terror, the arms trade, and privatization. A new concluding chapter examines alternatives to corporate globalization, including the World Social Forum, the Make Poverty History campaign, and trade justice initiatives.
