Description

It's a vibrant autumn day in Kitten's second adventure, as the ever-curious Kitten explores the woods near her farm and meets the creatures who live there. She finds a chipmunk chewing on a seed, a caterpillar munching on a leaf, a frog catching flies and many more creatures snacking on this and that to ready themselves for winter.

While the simple rhyming couplets make this a perfect read-aloud, young readers will enjoy picking out seasonal details in the mixed-media art and searching for and finding Kitten on every page.

About the author

Née en 1943, près de New York, Eugenie Fernandes puise son admiration pour les animaux et la nature dans les souvenirs de son enfance. Son inspiration, elle la doit en grande partie à son père, illustrateur de bandes dessinées, avec qui elle passait de longues heures dans son studio.En 1965, Eugenie Fernandes obtient son diplôme de l'école des Arts Visuels de New York et commence alors sa carrière en tant qu'illustratrice. Elle réalise des cartes de v?ux jusqu'au jour où on lui suggère de consulter un agent. Peu de temps après, Eugenie publie sa toute première histoire.Eugenie a écrit ou illustré plus de 80 livres dont Grosse journée, petite souris! et Caféolait s'en va-t-en ville. Parmi ses thèmes préférés, on retient ceux de l'eau et de la nature que l'on retrouve dans des livres tels que Des vagues dans la baignoire ou encore Lina et l'arbre magique. Elle vit aujourd'hui dans le sud de l'Ontario et travaille depuis sa maison dans son studio surplombant un lac et la forêt environnante.

 

Kim Fernandes is one of Canada's foremost 3-D illustrators. Previous books include "Zebo and the Dirty Planet," "One Grey Mouse" and "Gifts to Make with Model Magic." She lives in Port Perry, Ontario.

Eugenie Fernandes, Kim's mother, is an equally talented author and illustrator. Some of her best-known books include "Waves in the Bathtub," and "A Difficult Day." She lives in Ontario.
