VOLUME 33, Number 2 (2024) is a special issue of the Journal of Prisoners on Prisons on “Homelessness and Incarceration” edited by Erin Dej (Wilfrid Laurier University) and Dale Spencer (Carleton University). In addition to articles on the intersection between homelessness and imprisonment, this edition of the journal includes another installment of the dialogue on the Canadian carceral state featuring two articles written by Indigenous writers. The collection also includes a call for contributions for the 49th edition of Prisoners’ Justice Day and artwork by Ronnie Goodman.

About the author
Justin Piché is associate professor in the Department of Criminology and director of the Carceral Studies Research Collective at the University of Ottawa. He is also co-editor of the Journal of Prisoners on Prisons, a founding member of the Criminalization and Punishment Education Project, and researcher for the Carceral Cultures Research Initiative. His research examines how criminalization and confinement is justified and resisted during state campaigns to expand carceral controls and in popular culture.
