Editorial Reviews

Two new volumes in the Wheels at Work series (In the City, In the Country) are for youngsters ready for the next step in big-vehicle obsessions. Kilby offers up a variety of scenarios and unique details about working machines, without talking down to his audience. as the author introduces each truck, the lettering appears in bold type, making it pop out of the text. The acrylic illustrations are sophisticated, realistic, and beautiful. No frivolities here -- this pair will be the ultimate ride for the young expert of all things wheeled.

— Kirkus Reviews

Kilby presents a wonderful array of angles, vantage points, and perspectives that capture the confining nature of the city, but still manage to display each vehicle from it's most exciting angle … An excellent choice as a beginning non-fiction resource or to simply satisfy preschoolers' fascination with these monster vehicles, the Wheels at Work series is definitely on the right track.
