Description

History Makers profiles the 100 people, including famous Canadians, whose legacies burn brightest in the history of the last century -- from the greatest scientists to the boldest political leaders and intellectuals—and ranks them in order of their influence. Entries are categorized in one of five fields: Politics and leadership; Science and technology; Popular culture and the arts; Business and commerce; and Writers and thinkers.

The famous Canadians featured in the book include Glenn Gould, Alexander Graham Bell, Wayne Gretzky, Lester B. Pearson, Dr. Fredrick Banting, Leonard Cohen, Pierre Trudeau, David Suzuki, and more.

This compelling book offers a detailed profile of each person, placing their achievements in the context of their times and offering illuminating insight into their unique genius. More than that, groundbreaking concepts from disciplines as diverse as the arts, sciences and business are explained in a way that is easy to understand. Over two hundred photographs bring the subject matter vividly to life and capture the moments that made history.
