About the author

Dr. John Steckley has taught at Humber College since 1983. He also taught anthropology at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Native studies at Laurentian University. He has published over 150 articles in the academic and popular press, as well as a short book of Huron biographies. He is the author of Beyond Their Years: Five Native Women's Stories (CSPI, 1999).
