About the authors

S. Bear Bergman is the author of two books, the Lambda Award-nominated The Nearest Exit May Be Behind You (Arsenal Pulp, 2009), and Butch Is a Noun, first published by Suspect Thoughts in 2006 and reissued in a new edition by Arsenal Pulp Press in 2010. Bear is also the co-editor (with Kate Bornstein) of the Lambda Award-winning anthology Gender Outlaws: The Next Generation (Seal, 2010). Ze is also a frequent contributor to anthologies on all manner of topics from the sacred to the extremely profane. A longtime activist, Bear was one of the founders of the first-ever Gay Straight Alliance, and has watched them spread with wonder. Ze continues to work at the points of intersection between and among gender, sexuality, and culture, and spends a lot of time trying to discourage people from installing traffic signals there. Bear lives in Toronto, Ontario with hir husband and son.

Rachel Dougherty is a queer illustrator and children's book author. Rachel is passionate about kids growing into their best future selves, regardless of their assigned genders. She pushes paint and pixels from a cluttered but colorful studio in Philadelphia, where she's usually distracted by her charming wife and her yipping dog.

Lucas Platero (Madrid, 1970) es un activista transfeminista que tiene un doctorado en Sociología y Ciencia Política en la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). En la actualidad trabaja como profesor en la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, y es director de publicaciones de Estudios Trans en la Editorial Bellaterra. Ha publicado numerosos artículos de investigación en revistas internacionales y estatales, y es autor de varios libros, incluyendo Trans*exualidades: Acompañamientos, factores de salud y recursos educativos (2014); Por un chato de vino: Historias de travestismo y masculinidad femenina (2015), Barbarismos Queer y Otras Esdrújulas (2017), y Cuerpos Marcados.
