Jennifer Lloyd is the author of several books including Looking for Loons (CTTC Top 10), Ella's Umbrellas (Rainforest of Reading and Christie Harris Children's Literature Prize nominee),The Best Thing about Kindergarten (Kirkus and Publisher's Weekly starred review), Taffy Time and the Murilla Gorilla series (CCBC Best Books, Alcuin Award, OLA Best Bets). When she is not at her writing desk, Jennifer teaches elementary school in Blainville, Quebec. One of her favourite things is to encourage the writing pursuits of her grade two students. Ashley Spires grew up in the Pacific Northwest, the supposed stomping grounds of Bigfoot. She is the author and illustrator of a number of books for children, including Small Saul and the Adventures of Binky the Space Cat. She was the recipient of the 2011 Silver Birch Express Award and the 2011 Hackmatack Award for Binky the Space Cat and was shortlisted for a Joe Shuster Comics for Kids Award and an Eisner Award for Binky Under Pressure. Ashley currently lives in British Columbia.

Ashley Spires has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and a Graduate Diploma in Illustration from Sheridan College. She is the creator of the Binky The Space Cat series of junior graphic novels, which have earned her numerous awards, including the Silver Birch Express and the Hackmatack. She is the illustrator of several picture books, including Penguin and the Cupcake, Ella's Umbrellas, and The Red Shoes; and has also both written and illustrated several, including Larf, Small Saul and The Most Magnificent Thing, which are known for providing readers, young and old, with a good laugh.
