About the author
Calvin Poole was born at the Grenfell Hospital in Mary’s Harbour, Labrador during 1947 and grew up at a nearby fishing community of Fox Harbour (St. Lewis), where he still resides.
Although Poole was almost nine years old before he first attended school, he always had a great interest in books. In the past several years he developed an interest in Labrador history. He has written history articles for Them Days magazine and Linking the Generations. He also writes a monthly history column “Cals Corner” for his local paper. Poole is married and has five children.
