Description
There are three park systems in Saskatchewan: Regional, Provinical, and National. They range in size from a few acres to hundreds of square kilometres. Some are historical in nature, while others aim to preserve Saskatchewan's remaining natural wilderness areas. All, however, provide wonderful recreational opportunities to virtually every community in the province.
About the authors
Contributor Notes
Anna Clancy grew up in St. Isidore-de-Bellevue, and is a Licensed Practical Nurse with Saskatoon District Home Care. Anna and Michael were married in 1979 and together they raised a family in Saskatoon. As the children grew and because Mike enjoyed camping so much, the family would load up the van and spend their summer vacations touring the province; from this grew the desire to tell the world about what they'd seen. With Michael Clancy and a lot of help from the family, she co-authored: Discover Saskatchewan: A User's Guide to Regional Parks, A Feast of Persephone, and Discover Saskatchewan: A User's Guide to Saskatchewan Parks.
Michael Clancy grew up in Carrot River and is currently employed with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in the Center for Foodborne and Animal Parasitology (CFAP). For many summers, during the seventies, Mike operated the only hiking survival group between the Rockies and the Laurentians in the Boreal Forest of what is now the Narrow Hills Provincial Park. It was here that Mike learned to love camping and nature, something he remains passionate about even today. With Anna Clancy and a lot of help from the family, he co-authored: Discover Saskatchewan: A User's Guide to Regional Parks, A Feast of Persephone, and Discover Saskatchewan: A User's Guide to Saskatchewan Parks.
