Description
Though many anthologies purport to establish a new canon, Desperately Seeking Susans simply luxuriates in the ridiculous surfeit of talent we can find in not only Canadian poets, not only female Canadian poets, but female Canadian poets named Susan. Included in the anthology are works by: Sue Goyette, Susan Gillis, Susan Elmslie, Susan Telfer, Susan McMaster, Susan Andrews Grace, Susan Holbrook, Sue Stewart, Susan Glickman, Sue Chenette, Susan Musgrave, Susan Briscoe, Sue Macleod, Sioux Browning, Sue Sinclair, Susan Olding, Susan Ioannou and Sue Wheeler.

Librarian Reviews
Desperately Seeking Susans
This wonderful collection of poetry was born out of a whimsical question posed by the editor. Can you think of a Canadian poet named Susan? As it turned out there are many Canadian Susan poets: Briscoe, Glickman, Musgrave, Wheeler and lots more. The Susans featured in Desperately Seeking Susans have won just about every major Canadian literary award. The poems presented here display a vast range of style and subject matter, some quirky and humorous, others contemplative and haunting. A brief biographical outline of each of the 40 contributors is also included in this work.Tsiang is the author of Sweet Devilry, winner of the 2012 Gerald Lampert Prize. She is also the author of several children’s books.
