About the author

John Lenardon is president of Data Cyber Labs Inc. For more than 20 years he has consulted with and done training for corporations and government departments worldwide. He is certified in Computer Forensics and writes and lectures on technology and computer crime. He is the author of Identity Theft Toolkit, also published by Self-Counsel Press.

This volume consists of a book and CD-ROM that provide assistance to parents to help ensure a safe and educational environment for their child on the Internet. Included is an easy-to-read section on understanding the Internet, as well as descriptions of possible online threats such as gambling, blogging and chat rooms. Tips on how to investigate childrens’ Internet activities, what to look for and be concerned about in their practices, and advice and solutions on prevention and protection are offered. Several appendices cover needed software and chat room abbreviations and an example of a written usage agreement between parent and child.
