Description
This warm, amusing, and deeply human story of how Jim and Kay Morrison retired to the New Brunswick countryside is told in a series of lively episodes which catch the flavour and excitement of a new start in life. Of course, Jim Morrison was well rooted in rural new Brunswick. During the Depression years, he lived on his grandfather"s farm with his mother and two brothers where they grew to love farm life. Jim Morrison returned to Carleton County many years later: finding the land, building the house, learning to cope with bees, goats, and alders — all the while discovering that the plumbing, the carpentry, and the greenhouse refused to cooperate. This is above all a tale of fun and zest for living, which demonstrates how retirement on the Saint John River, which can be pesky too, has been full to the brim and overflowing.

He now lives on the banks of the Saint John River in New Brunswick's Carleton County.
