Dr. James G. (Jim) Dickson is Merritt Professor of Forestry and Coordinator of the Wildlife Program at Louisiana Tech University. He is also Scientist Emeritus of the USDA Forest Service, Southern Research Station. His research, detailed in over 100 technical publications, has helped define wildlife habitat relationships of many vertebrate species and communities of southern forests. He has also been instrumental in advancing wildlife management through more than 250 presentations to lay and professional audiences. Jim has played a leadership role in the conservation of the wild turkey. He is past President and a long term Director of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Dr. Dickson compiled and edited the award winning monograph, The Wild Turkey: Biology and Management, which has been called a wildlife publication classic. Also, he is former three-time Texas Wild Turkey Calling Champion.
