Description
Since the Take It to the Xtreme series was launched, 15-year-old best friends Jake and Peter have survived whitewater rapids, an avalanche, a forest fire, movie stunt work, killer surf waves, perilous rock-climbing, and much, much more.
In this latest installment of the series, Jake and Peter are junior instructors at a noisy wakeboard school that is attempting to share a remote lake with a community of save-the-Earth society dropouts (otherwise known as hippies) .
Jake and Peter love performing their own tricks behind a powerboat driven by the school's founder, a macho young wakeboard fanatic known as "the party animal." Then, Peter decides to encourage the wild streak in a rebellious hippie girl across the lake. She runs away to hide in a nearby abandoned sawmill, only to discover it's not as abandoned as it looks. Community tensions soon erupt — and the boys get more than they bargained for.

Wake’s Edge
In this eighth title of the Take it to the Xtreme outdoor sports adventure series, fifteen-year-old best friends, Jake and Peter, are having a great time perfecting their wakeboarding skills as they take summer jobs at a privately owned lake, just outside of Bellingham. Their boss, Rocky, known as “Party Animal”, shows the boys the finer points of wakeboarding as they have the lake to themselves, except for a hippie community on the other side of the lake run by Rocky’s sister and her boyfriend. When Rocky’s dog turns up poisoned and baby eagles are not hatching, the Wakeboarding School becomes the obvious culprit. The boys, with the help of Rocky’s niece, try to determine if it is because of all the toxins the jet skis are emitting into the lake, or if it could have something to do with the abandoned sawmill near the hippie camp.Besides the Take It to the Xtreme series, Pam Withers is the author of Breathless, Camp Wild and The Daredevil Club.
