In behind the raspberry bushes is a special place, a place Abby doesn't trust to just anyone. Then she looks through a knothole in the fence and right into a blue, blue eye. A toy tractor appears on her side of the fence and she pokes her little brother's stuffed blue monkey into the hole. The next morning she finds it with its tail ripped off. Who does the blue eye belong to?
About the authors
Alison Lohans is an award-winning, internationally published author of many books for young people, most recently "River Rat" and "This Land We Call Home," which won the 2008 Saskatchewan Book Award for Young Adult Literature. She has also worked as a writing instructor and a music teacher, and served as Writer in Residence in addition to doing hundreds of author talks across Canada. Born and raised in central California, Alison immigrated to Canada during the Vietnam War years. She has two grown sons and gets great enjoyment from her passion for music, playing cornet, recorder and cello in several amateur groups in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Gillian Newland est une artiste qui travaille principalement à l'aquarelle, à l'encre et au crayon. Elle trouve son inspiration en dessinant à l'extérieur de son studio. Gillian Newland is an artist who lives and works in Toronto. In addition to illustrating a number of picture books, her artwork can be seen on several young adult novels and in magazines. She has won the Ruth Schwartz Award and been nominated for the Lane Anderson Award.
