About the authors
Matt Voyno is a polymath music man. He has been involved in the digital music space for over 15 years and has extensive experience in the world of creative arts. Through managing and promoting music, bands and events, he has created a unique skill set that has led him to become an author, speaker, artist manager, musician and digital marketer. In 2012, Voyno spoke at the TEDxUofS about the power of the internet's participatory culture. He also joined the international mobile, social media and music conference MoSo Fest as their marketing and sponsorship coordinator.
Roshan Hoover is a musician, former artist manager, show promoter and principal director of Massive MKTG, a digital marketing agency. He understands the in-the-trenches work of being in a band, and spent the last four years taking a start-up technology company from zero to one million in annual revenue. Through his passion and experience working with music and tech, he knows first-hand the opportunities the new digital world offers the serious musician.
Editorial Reviews
An excellent read! It provides a thorough description on how social media can elevate your brand to new heights. If you're an artist looking to take your brand to the next level, this is your book.
Dawn Richard, multi-platinum R&B recording artist, formerly of Danity Kane and Diddy's Dirty Money
Musicians need to face the fact that living a life in music is a privilege to earn through hard work, innovation and collaboration. Artists need to take risks and push the edges of creative expression by embracing the reality that nothing about music is normal anymore. The number of new artists entering the market is greater than ever and that means more competition for a smaller slice of an already shrinking pie. This book is a great guide to how to move your career forward in this very competitive environment.

The New Rockstar Philosophy just makes sense. It's five years of industry wisdom wrapped up into a solid, quick read.
Jack Conte, half of indie duo Pomplamoose
One of the most useful books I've ever read to understand how music works these days. It made me focus on the really important questions: "Who am I as an artist?""Who is my audience?,""Why am I doing this?" For me it was a life changer.
Tommaso Colliva, 2013 Grammy-nominated engineer and producer, worked with Muse, Twilight Singers, Calibro 35
