Surf Zone

This fifth title in the Take It to the Xtreme outdoor sports adventure series involves best friends Jake and Pete vying for a girl’s attention. The fifteen-year-old surfing enthusiasts meet Valerie and her parents in Tofino, where they work as junior kayaking guides. After Jake rescues the strong-willed Valerie on a kayak excursion, she and the boys are allowed to go scuba diving off the company yacht. A series of underwater mishaps strands the three teens alone on a deserted island. Before their rescue by local First Nation’s people, they endure a menacing Orca, surf to escape through a storm with thirty-foot waves and discover the desecration of ancient burial caves. West coast natural history, surfing, kayaking and scuba diving have all been thoroughly researched, authenticated by experts and vividly detailed in this story.
