Description

A student’s learning life has many “transitions”: from home to school, from grade level to grade level, from one stage to the next. None of these has more impact on learning and school achievement than the transition from elementary school to secondary school. In Successful Student Transition, Ruth Sutton helps us find a way through these complexities. First, she asks some important questions about professional practices in North American schools. Then, drawing on research studies from around the world, and from her own work in the UK and New Zealand, Sutton offers practical suggestions for making student transition successful.
