About the authors

Judy Larmour is a heritage consultant specializing in social, agricultural, and architectural history. For the last twenty years, she has been involved with research for many projects in Alberta, including the Provincial Historic Site at Dunvegan, the John Walter Museum in Edmonton, and the restored NWMP Detachment Building in Canmore. Judy’s publications include Hay Making in Alberta Before 1955, How to Do Oral History, and North Red Deer Historical Walking Tour. She is a regular contributor to Legacy magazine. Judy lives on a farm at the foot of the Medicine Lodge Hills, west of Bentley.

Henry Saley is a writer, educator, and publisher. Early in his career, he explored many parts of Alberta Parks for which he was posted at Lesser Slave Lake, Miquelon Lake and Rimbey. He has consulted on the development of environmental education programs, exhibits and educational trail signs for such clients as Alberta 4-H Centre, Dinosaur Provincial Park and the Sherwood Park Natural Area. He is the author of NatureWalks and Sunday Drives' Round Edmonton and now publishes visitor guides for lakeside communities in central Alberta and monthly Horizon Magazine.
