Description
This little book is just right for little hands and is illustrated in full colour with highly predictable text. Tiger Cub Books are proven resources for teaching reading. Highly predictable text—using rhyme, rhythm, and repetition—helps children quickly absorb story patterns. The engaging stories make excellent models for the children's own writing.
About the authors
Marlene and Robert McCracken began teaching in 1950. They worked as a writing, speaking and consulting team for over 30 years. They worked with primary teachers throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, and Australia, where they instituted holistic teaching that integrated thinking, concept development, listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling.
Robert McCracken's profile page
Robert and Marlene McCracken, a husband and wife team, are credited with developing a literature-based teaching approach to build children’s literacy. They began teaching together in 1970 and formed the McCracken Educational Services, USA, Inc. in 1986 to help teachers develop curricula and strategies for helping students–especially at risk and ESL students–develop literacy. The McCracken approach is founded in the belief that as a result of being read to, most children can be taught to listen, think, speak, and write about what they have heard and that reading follows just as naturally as the tail follows the tiger.
