Description
March has a perfect life: beauty, popularity, a great job, a loving family and a hot boyfriend.
So when she discovers that her boyfriend is cheating on her, she is hurt and enraged. When she lashes out at him, he falls and is badly injured. March panics, flees the scene and then watches her perfect life spiral out of control. In a misguided attempt to atone for her crime, March changes her appearance, quits her job and tries to become invisible until an unlikely friendship and a new job force her to re-engage with life.
This short novel is a high-interest, low-reading level book for teen readers who are building reading skills, want a quick read or say they don’t like to read!

Excerpt: Shattered (by (author) Sarah N. Harvey)
I felt strong. And angry. Angrier than I've ever been. His bare, wet chest collided with my palms, and I shoved him—hard. He staggered and fell backward.
Editorial Reviews
"This story has the immediacy of adolescent emotions—March doesn't feel or do anything halfway...For such a short, simply written novel, Shattered has a lot of action and detail. It is smoothly written, and the first person narration brings the reader along the path of self-discovery with March."
Resource Links
"Well written...The hook within the first chapter of the book grabs the reader, and the narrative keeps the interest...Highly recommend adding this to any high school library collection."
Tri State YA Book Review Committee
"Harvey's story is easily consumed and should have great appeal for teens that don't often pick up a book, especially those who think they aspire to life in the fast, gritty lane. Recommended."
