Description

Sally is going to the groomer!

Lovable pup Sally is looking a little shaggy, so her owners are taking her to the groomer. It smells like a garden and Sally sees brushes and bows galore. Then it's time for a bath. Once she's squeaky clean and blow-dried, Sally gets brushed, snipped and clipped. When her owners arrive—surprise!—everyone has fancy new hairdos!

Editorial Reviews

“For a young child who will be having a first haircut, perhaps, Sally reveals much of what’s in store for them: all the fragrances, the mirrors, and the blow dryer, plus the proud conclusion. Sally’s delightful experience with the groomer may ease a child’s concern over a haircut and turn it into an enjoyable event.”

Booklist

“This book was born for the ‘first haircut’ stacks…Elevating a common childhood milestone to a gleeful case of the primps, this book will prime children for Sally’s next outing.”

School Library Journal (SLJ)

“Larsen and Lo team up again to bring sweet pup Sally’s simple adventures to life. Toddlers who are trepidatious about their first trips to the barber or salon will identify and be calmed…and probably want to play with bubbles…Reassurance that new experiences don’t have to be scary.”

Kirkus Reviews

“Any child who loves dogs will be sure to adore this tale. It is a fun-filled book with adorable illustrations. I would highly recommend it for classrooms.”
