"Out on the trail, and what do I see?" This gently rhyming picture book takes young ones on a walk through nature—discovering the ocean, a brook, clouds and more—and encouraging engagement with the world around them. Full-spread wordless pictures offer an opportunity for children to look further and discover more. Molly Margaret's charming illustrations are inspired by the beautiful landscape along the East Coast trail near her home. The author includes a brief afterword with tips for adult readers about how to interact with children to help increase their literacy and curiosity.

Bonnie Morgan (MLIS/LLB, PhD) is a librarian and award-winning historian from Newfoundland and Labrador. Currently Public Services Librarian at Memorial University's Centre for Newfoundland Studies, Dr. Morgan's professional experience includes work as Children's Collections and Services librarian with NL Public Libraries. An early literacy enthusiast, this is her first picture book.

Molly Margaret is an illustrator and muralist based in St. John's, Newfoundland. She earned her Bachelor of Design in Illustration from OCAD University in Toronto, Canada, in 2018. Her work is heavily influenced by plants and botanicals, East Coast imagery and culture, as well as architecture and people wearing tiny boots. Molly is dedicated to producing joyous, colourful, and whimsical pieces for all to enjoy. Out on the Trail is her first picture book.
