One Story A Day, a series of 12 books with a total of 365 stories, one for each day of the year. The content, style, and structure of each book in the series encourage reading in children. Each book contains one story for each day of the month. Targeted illustrations reinforce the concepts in the stories, making them easy to understand. There are two supplemental audio CDs for each book, with all stories narrated in clear, natural voices by professional actors. Written by professional Canadian writers, these books are comprised of high-interest topics and motivational content that gets children excited about reading. The vocabulary is controlled, but the content is always interesting. The stories about nature, science, and history that encourage children to think. One Story A Day fosters children's total development-linguistic, intellectual, social, and cultural-through the joy of reading.
About the authors

Leonard is a teacher, writer and editor with more than 25 years in the publishing industry. His work has appeared in numerous national and international magazines and newspapers. He taught in northern Canada for a number of years and was Supervisor for Curriculum Development for a Native school board in northern Quebec for four years. He has a B.A. and a B.Ed. from Queen's University and is a longtime member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada.
