In her highly anticipated debut collection, No Apologies for the Weather, Taylor Leedahl integrates the dynamic traditions of Western Canadian poetry with her evolving pop sensibility, and emerges with a bright and resonant new sound on the literary landscape. This is a work where performance defines identity — that dynamic act of forging who we think/feel we are into an actualized/materialized/inscribed entity where our bodies and minds are fused. All experience is measured against such change'sustenance derived from family and friends, the tensions of sexuality, the rhythms of nature, and impact of fate. TAYLOR LEEDAHL’s poetry has been nationally broadcast on CBC radio and she was a competitor in the 2006 CBC National Poetry Face–Off. Her work has appeared in Claremont Review and most recently in Fast Forward: New Saskatchewan Poets (Hagios Press). She has conducted numerous readings in Saskatchewan, and in 2002 and 2003 received national awards in the League of Canadian Poets’ Poetic Licence Contest for Canadian Youth. She lives in Saskatoon, SK.
