Description
A fabulous selection of vintage Montreal photographs from 1866 to 1965. Montreal is an old city with many archives?corporate, religious, government, university, municipal, and others. Each archive was asked to select photographs from their collection that in some unique way reflected the history and style of Montreal. The result is a rare and wonderful celebration of Montreal over the last 100 years. The Montreal Photo Album is a tiny glimpse into the rich heritage of treasures from Montreal archives. Included are the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the archives which contributed photographs to the bookan invitation to do some further exploring.
About the author
Nancy Marrelli is Archivist Emerita at Concordia University. She is the author of Stepping Out: The Golden Era of Montreal Nightclubs 1925-1955, Montréal Photo Album: Photographs from Montréal Archives / Montréal: Un album de photos; Photographies provenant de dépôts d'archives montréalais, and, as editor (with Simon Dardick), The Scots of Montreal: A Pictorial Album.
