Mitzy gets to go sweetgrass picking with her mom, an important Indigenous teaching passed down from generation to generation. Sweetgrass is a traditional medicine used in ceremonies, healing, and art.

Emily Johnson is a visual artist in Saskatoon, SK. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Saskatchewan. Her recent primary focus has been in the field of sculpture and installation, with awarded success. Other focal experience lies with drawing, painting, printmaking, and costume design. The styles of her artwork range from high realism to graphically stylized. She has participated in several international artist collaborations, taught children’s art classes, and seeks to widen her artistic horizons with anything that might make it onto her parents’ fridge.
