About the authors
Dr. Lee Murray is an associate professor at the College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Nursing, and a PhD in Education Administration. Lee has presented her work at local, regional, provincial, national, and international conferences, and has also published her work in a number of journals and books. She is a co-editor of Mother as Keepers and Tellers of Origin Stories and uses autoethnography (storytelling) to explore the experiences of moms and grandmas. Lee has the most fun when she is with her grandchildren, and writing a book with her granddaughter Kori was a real joy!Kori Upshall is Lee Murray’s granddaughter and was four years old when she asked the thoughtful questions presented in this book. Kori keeps busy with school, art, writing stories, and creating music.
Emily Johnson is a visual artist in Saskatoon, SK. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Saskatchewan. Her recent primary focus has been in the field of sculpture and installation, with awarded success. Other focal experience lies with drawing, painting, printmaking, and costume design. The styles of her artwork range from high realism to graphically stylized. She has participated in several international artist collaborations, taught children’s art classes, and seeks to widen her artistic horizons with anything that might make it onto her parents’ fridge.
