MY STORY is the memoir of Eric and Mary Stathers, pioneers of Squamish, Canada and the British Columbia Railway. MY STORY describes Eric's family background and early life in Hull, England and on a farm near Clearwater, Manitoba prior to meeting Mary in Transcona. It chronicles their move to Squamish, British Columbia in 1929 and the challenges of work and family life with the Pacific Great Eastern Railway during the Depression, World War II, and post war years.

Eric Prince Stathers
Eric Prince Stathers was born in England, grew up in Manitoba, and worked as Car Foreman and Superintendent of the Pacific Great Eastern Railway in Squamish, British Columbia from 1929 to 1965.

Eric Stathers (eldest grandson of Eric Prince Stathers) is the author of five books that cover wide ranging topics such as railroad wrecks, sailing clippers, steamships, and horticultural nurseries. They include IN THE DITCH, MY STORY, JAAP & EMMY, SAILOR BILL & MARY and the STATHERS-MANTEN FAMILY GENEALOGY. He comes from Lillooet, British Columbia.
