Description

Fitting in as a teen can be hard enough, but with the amount of moving around that Sarah Sawler’s family does, it’s pretty much impossible. She tries to make friends, but it’s hard connecting with teens who have gone to school together since grade one. The one relationship that she does have ends due to what could be describe as the world’s worst kiss ever. After that disaster Sarah quickly develops her own coping mechanism: burying herself in her books. After all, who needs real friends when novels have such interesting characters?

Sarah is devastated when she learns her parents are packing the family up again right before she starts grade twelve and doesn’t anticipate that making friends any easier at her new high school. But when Sarah hits it off with an interesting boy in the months before she leaves, she realizes that finding people she can be yourself around is well worth the effort.

Leaving For Good is about making the best out of a bad situation and allowing yourself to open up to the possibility of true friendship. Twenty per cent of proceeds go to IWK Foundation.
