About the authors

Contributor Notes

Jacinta Gallant is a divorce lawyer, mediator and educator. As a student and teacher of the Insight Approach to Conflict, Jacinta has transformed the way she engages with her clients and her world, enhancing self-reflection and openness through the power of curiosity. After decades of working with (and learning from) separating couples, Jacinta created her first workbook, Our Family in Two Homes, Many clients said if they had had the "TwoHomes" workbook a few years ago, they might not be separating - so Jacinta created Going Steady with her law partner and daughter to help couples sustain and thrive in relationships. If it puts them out of the divorce business, that's ok with them!

Taylor Smiley is a highly creative lawyer and owner of Spinco Charlottetown who brings a deep understanding of people and relationships to her law practice and business. After years working with separating couples, she was thrilled to co-create Going Steady - to help couples relieve the pressure of "relationship perfection", spark the honest conversations that make relationships thrive and get real about the wonders and challenges of "doinglife" together.
As authors of Going Steady, Jacinta (still married to the guy she met when she was 21) and Taylor (newly married) bring a unique perspective to the relationship "self-help" field.
