A coffee-table book of black-and-white photographs by one of Canada's early environmental photographers. This book brings together a collection of Balch's black-and-white photographs, many having appeared in Canadian and US magazines, with selections from his writings about the environment.
About the author
Reg Balch was first and foremost a scientist, a biologist who spent most of his more than ninety years examining the North American forest eco-system. He was also an ecologist and an amateur photographer whose work embodied his own ecological perspective.
