Description
Anne Shirley, B.A., arrives in her new home of Summerside scandalously in love. With two years to wait until she can be married, she has come to be principal of the local high school. Unfortunately, the town’s most powerful family have already taken a disliking to her and Anne’s charm appears to have met its match. She finds comfort in the letters she writes from her tower room, until at last she stumbles upon a secret and the winds begin to change.
Book 4 of the Anne of Green Gables series by L. M. Montgomery. A tale of literature’s most famous redhead and her colourful imagination. An excellent introduction to classic literature and perfect for readers aged 9+.
About the authors
Lucy Maud Montgomery had her first poem published at the age of 15 and after completing college she worked for a short time as a journalist before becoming a teacher. In 1908 Anne of Green Gables was published to huge acclaim with Anne of Avonlea coming soon after. Many successful novels followed but by late 1930s, due to personal troubles, illness and depression, she stopped writing. Lucy Maud Montgomery died in 1942 and was buried on her beloved Prince Edward Island.
