Description
It is the summer of 1935, and while young Doug Sayers is spending the summer going to movies and sneaking cigarettes and his friend Babe Roothe is discovering women, William Aberhart and the Social Credit Party are promising twenty-five dollars a month for everyone in Alberta. Babes mysterious death is the first in a chain of bizarre events, freak thunderstorms, and political intrigue. /
About the author
Born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1925, Bruce Allen Powe served in the Canadian Army overseas in 194345. On veterans credits he earned both his B.A. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Alberta. During his career Powe worked for the federal government and held jobs in public relations and advertising until 1990 when he started his own corporate writing company. Powe is the author of five books including Aberhart Summer The Novel and The Ice Eaters. A proud father and grandfather, Powe now makes his home in Toronto, Ontario./
